In a fractured land, isolated villages rely on the mystical Guild, a group of warriors and scholars who have been embued with supernatural powers, to protect them from bloodthirsty monsters. After being saved by a Guild hunter, a young man named Shike joins their ranks, only to discover the Guild's dark obsession with forbidden knowledge and the hidden truths which threaten to unravel the world he thought he knew.
